There are many ways to participate in this program.

Go Solar

The best way to do this is by participating in a Solarize program, such as the Solarize Bloomington campaign. Solarize programs essentially organize a group purchase of solar systems, negotiating competitive prices with pre-screened installer(s), reviewing equipment specifications and contracts, and generally making the whole process affordable and as easy as possible for homeowners ready to switch to clean solar power.

Apply for a grant:  May 16 – June 30, 2023

If a solar array is financially out of reach for your household, you can apply to participate with Indiana Solar for All (ISFA). Those whose income does not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income may qualify for free or reduced-price solar equipment, as well as free installation by trained volunteers. Others can purchase panels from our supplier themselves, yet save money on installation costs. All participants are required to “pay” the program with sweat equity, helping with several solar installations in addition to their own, and contributing to the operations and growth of the program itself. See more information here about how to apply for the grant and what to expect.

Volunteer

ISFA welcomes volunteers with a wide array of skills, interests, and time available. Builders, electricians, cooks, organizers, photographers, writers, managers, fundraisers, publicists, and more are needed on a regular basis.  You can let us know about your interests here or contact volunteer@insfa.org for more information.
